Casi todo está preparado para la 82ª ceremonia de los Oscar de Hollywood, que se celebrará el 7 de marzo en el Teatro Kodak de Los Ángeles. Hay varias novedades para esta edición, como que los maestros de ceremonia serán dos: los actores Alec Baldwin y Steve Martin. Este último ya tiene experiencia en esto de presentar los Oscar, ya que esta será su tercera vez. El año pasado, Hugh Jackman dejó el listón bastante alto con sus artes interpretativas y demostrando que es un verdadero showman a la hora de bailar y cantar. Veremos si esta pareja sorprende de la misma manera.
Otra de las novedades es que, por primera vez en 60 años, se presentan diez filmes como candidatas a conseguir el Oscar a la mejor película, y no cinco, como era lo habitual. Se trata de ‘Avatar’, la película más taquillera de la historia hasta el momento, ‘En tierra hostil’, ‘Up in the air’, ‘Precious’, ‘Up’, ‘District 9’, ‘Un tipo serio’, ‘An education’, ‘Malditos bastardos’ y ‘The blind side’. Sin duda, la lucha estará entre ‘Avatar’, de James Cameron y ‘En tierra hostil’, de Kathryn Bigelow, que optan a nueve estatuillas cada una, y cuyos directores están divorciados el uno del otro, para más inri.
La actriz Anne Hathaway fue la encargada de anunciar los nominados y dio la gran sorpresa cuando, en la categoría de actriz de reparto pronunció el nombre de la española Penélope Cruz, logrando así su tercera candidatura, en este caso por su papel en el musical ‘Nine’. Recordemos que la chica de Alcobendas ya ganó el preciado galardón por ‘Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona’ el año pasado. Lo va a tener un poco difícil…
Pero la representación española en los Oscar no se acaba con Pe. El cortometraje ‘La Dama y la Muerte’ se ha colado en la categoría de Mejor Cortometraje de Animación, mientras que ‘El secreto de sus ojos’ (coproducción hispano-argentina) es candidata a Mejor Película de Habla No Inglesa.
Otro dato muy curioso es que se puede dar el caso de que Sandra Bullock, una de las favoritas a llevarse el Oscar a Mejor Actriz, obtenga horas antes el Razzie (los anti-Oscar) a la peor intérprete del 2009. O que Meryl Streep, candidata también a mejor interpretación principal, sigue ostentando el título de la actriz que más veces ha sido nominada al Oscar, consiguiendo, nada más y nada menos que 16 candidaturas.
